How to Stop Drinking – Stop Drinking Alcohol without Aa
Reply: Well BOA just sent me an envelope full of balance transfer checks and my CL has stayed the same. Needless to say the checks went through the shredder.
I got the same BT checks and an offer for up to a $30k credit line but last friday they cut my CL in half. After I got those I called up BoA and after 30m on the phone with a credit analyst he upped my CL back up to where it used to be. He even told me its better to talk to somone as I had 3 system declines since they cut my CL.

All of this BoA talk has me not wanting to check my limits online…though I have been multiple times a day recently.
The Bull gets a health checkup daily. So far so good…
Right. That's the ONLY one I'm worried about. They can play around with the two toy limits all they want. Just don't touch my largest limit!
I've not heard about any Bulls being reduced – yet. Bob Wang's was closed a few months ago, but that was because he hadn't used the account in a couple years.
I just don't want to be that guy to make that thread.
Mine sees heavy useage (lots of purchases but usually totally under 5% of the limit), so I'm just hoping that it continues to be untouched.
The other two BoA cards only see a purchase every few months, but I don't know if they want to "rob" me of 1-2k here and there.

Reply:As far as CLD letters go, I suppose it's not half bad.
Thanks for posting it, guy. I know what to expect now.
BTW…I talked to BofA this morning. My pharmacy tried to charge $$833 that should have gone to insurance, which triggered a fraud alert. They were very nice and very helpful, as always.

Reply:Looks like I'm in line to receive one of these letters too. I just logged into my BofA account and saw my limit cut in half. It's my first CLD, ever. The account is about 10 years old, PIF, no lates. January FICOs were: EQ 801, EX 768, TU 797.
I'm not too upset about it. It won't affect my utilization since the limit doesn't report (it's a NPSL Visa Signature card). I was already thinking about closing it because it's a US Airways card, and those accounts are being transferred to Barclays in June. Since I don't fly USAir anymore, the card was only getting minimal usage. The CLD just makes the decision to close that much easier.
Reply:Thanks Trevor appreciate the input. I love the bull would hate to start seeing CLD, AA and all of the nonsense going on.

Trevor you think the Merill+ card will be handled in a similiar way? I know it's BOA and all but….
I hope not. But, as I've stated before it wouldn't surprise me either way. I do utilize my Bull a lot and my scores are high. However, it seems apparent that no credit limits are immune from AA when a bank is paranoid and determined. Use, pay, wait and see…

Reply: Well, BofA just got me. Although I haven't gotten the letter yet, I noticed online my credit line has been cut from $45,000 to $20,500. I'm not sure why they picked that number.
I'm not particularly upset as I had been expecting it and it really has no effect on me. Plus, it's just business.
You went from a nice round number to slightly odd number.
Mine was 43.3K to 22K.

Precisely. In fact, a lot of the limit they cut were unsolicted CLIs when I barely used the card. As long as it remains open with a usable limit for me I'm fine with it.

I use it frequently, it's one of my oldest open accounts. I just never run up much of a balance on it, in fact I've never ran more than $1000 through it in any billing cycle.
Reply:Yesterday, I noticed my wife had a card go from 9k to 5k. We do ALL of our banking at BOA and have our savings there. I called, they transferred me to the "credit dept". It was reduced due to low utilization. It seems that you are damned if you do, damned if you don't. I spoke with them and they reinstated the CL.
Reply:I'll probably get a similar letter later… what they lowered my limit to is, however, lower than my high balance.
