Account marked "in dispute" for >1 year [quot] [cra]

Welcome!

I have an account, the CA SOL is for me (DOLA July 2003 90 days). In September 2004 I asked the validation, which I never received. After confirming receipt of the Green Card, I disputed w / the CRA. The CA verifies. About 60 days later, the account was a “dispute” by the CA marks (which like to use CA multiple addresses, it was deleted from another report no problem).
As of today I have never received the validation, and the account is marked as in dispute, but continue to be updated on a monthly basis. The upgrade to a continued bases, while the report is in dispute, and noted as such, never gave me validation does not seem to really me.
Can someone tell me why such report in dispute, but never the information (CA) ? If this is not a continuation of collection activity, only in financial reporting and its content, without provision of validation?
And what should be my next step? Redisputing with the CRA (with the assumption that they do not have the information, so do not be able to “verify”)? Resend DV # 2 after passing SOL (end of month)?

Thanks T Sharice. but its still on my report, and the balance is updating monthly with interest. Won't this still show up on my report if it is pulled for new credit, mortage, etc?
I guess this is just puzzling/frustrating in that my original impression was that they had 30 days to validate, or delete. They don't validate, continue to report with the dispute notation, and its still on my report, in limbo.

Reply:I suggest you opt out, get old addresses deleted, go on line and in the dispute section for each CRA for that account click the box marked "other" and type in "OBSOLETE".

Reply:My initial contact was when I pulled my report. I never received a letter from them.
So, if they just report as in dispute, then what incentive do they have to validate, ever?

If you didn't DV in the first 30 days from the initial contact then the CA does not have a deadline when to validate the debt. The TL in your CR will say that you dispute the charge/debt/CO just to conform w/ FCRA but the TL will most likely stay in your report the full course allowed by law (7yr).
